And so it begins…

Over the last couple weeks, many of us have opened Facebook or Instagram to soon find ourselves open mouthed and drooling over the images of the fishery in and around Tourette Fishing’s Sette Cama Camp in Gabon, mainly portrayed through the incredible lens work of TF Head Guide Mark Murray… This incredible fishery has been firing over the last couple weeks, and TF and their clients have been taking advantage in a big way, scoring some incredible captures in what must be one of the finest land based fisheries in the world… Giant Tarpon, Monster Cubera Snapper, Giant African Threadfin, Jack Crevalle of epic proportions and more….

Up until now this insane fishing has been sampled almost exclusively by conventional spinning gear, but today the first group of “Fly Only” anglers is flying to Libreville and then on to Sette Cama to tangle with some beasts, and really push the limits in terms of this fishery as a “Flyfishing” environment…

Feathers & Fluoro’s very own mad scientist, Conrad is part of this crowd of merry pranksters, joined by a couple other serious feather chucking heavyweights in Arno van der Nest, John Travis, Garth Wellman and the always globe trotting Jeff Currier…  They’ll be meeting up with the TF Team including Head Guide Mark Murray for a week of hardcore land based surf flyfishing… with the potential to connect to some enormous Tarpon, Cubera, Threadfin and Monster Jacks from the beach, all on fly gear, we are all waiting in crazy anticipation to see what unfolds on the jungle beaches of this last frontier of Flyfishing…

Wishing you boys an incredible trip, and Conrad I hope to see a shit load of pics of those incredible flies you’ve been spinning up, in the gaping jaws of some crazy fish… Safe travels, and fuck shit up boys…

Here a couple sample shots of the Gabonese targets… all pics credit to Tourette Fishing and Head Guide Mark Murray.
