Nice. I also caught africanus on crab pattern in oman this November on a DIY trip. I guess there aren’t too many members in that club. Looking forward to read your article. I found a place down south with 100’s of them with their fins out of the water. Looking forward to return next year. Did you catch the other species of permit as well (blochii or however you spell it)? By the way, can you show me how to tie your mole crab? It looks great.

I’m very proud of this lad! Peter worked extremely hard and totally deserved this fish, though I’m jealous that he now holds the record for fly caught Arabian permit-at least for now 😉
This fishing is not for the meek or faint of heart. These fish will test/break your belief in your skills and abilities, if not your spirit.
Peter is the eighth person to accomplish this feat
First on the list for sheer size and second on the list for fish landed.
Again, fucking awesome stuff.
